On Thursday, we had our VIP visitors day. In the morning, we were delighted to be joined by UK Chief Scout, Dwayne Fields.

He was given a tour of the site by some of our young members, and he joined in with some of the activities. He also visited a sub camp and signed a lot of neckers along the way!

He presented a lucky Scout with an award.

As an adventuror, he had no issues on our high ropes course.

In the afternoon we welcomed over 80 invited guests. They ranged from Mayors, Councillors, Lord Lieutenants, High Sheriff of Cheshire, the Police & Crime Commissioner for Cheshire, Lead volunteers from other Scout and Guide counties, Committee Members from our global umbrella organisations WOSM & WAGGGS, plus various other Presidents, Vice Presidents and Dignatories. They all had a short guided tour of the site, in mini ‘patrols’ with ‘patrol leaders’ made up mainly of Chamboree core team members, and they were super impressed with the event and the opportunities we were providing for our young people – not only at Chamboree, but on a week to week basis across Scouting and Girlguiding, where jointly we support 15,000 young people across Cheshire.

Camp Chief Dave Hopley makes a short presentation at the start.
