The Discover Zone offers a more relaxed pace compared to some of the higher-energy zones, with participants often spending longer periods engaged in a single activity. Many activities are hands-on and may involve tools, materials, or guided instruction.
Leaders should expect participants to settle into activities and remain engaged for longer durations, with a mix of instructor-led and self-guided experiences.
π What Participants Should Wear
Clothing suitable for hands-on activities, including items that can get a little messy, along with closed-toe footwear.
π What Participants Should Bring
A refillable water bottle and a willingness to get involved and try something new.
Those particularly interested in Japanese Sashiko (Clothing Repairs & Upcycling) should bring some old clothes that already need prepare or could be adapted. Old t-shirts, denim or similar work.
π£ Call for Help!
Leaders are required to accompany participants to zones and remain available to support if needed. While older sections may explore more independently, your presence is still important for safety and support.
We recognise there will be periods where your focus is fully on managing and supporting your group, particularly during transitions and busier times. There will also be opportunities where participants are fully engaged in activities, giving you the chance to step in, support delivery, or even get involved yourself.
To ensure all activities can operate at full capacity, leaders are asked to support zone delivery during these periods. This helps maintain a smooth experience for all participants and gives you the chance to be part of the action.
