For more than 30 years, Chamboree has brought together Scouts, Guides and volunteers from Cheshire, across the UK and around the world.
What began as a county camp has grown into one of the UK’s leading international Scout and Guide events, welcoming thousands of participants and providing generations of young people with opportunities for adventure, personal growth and friendship.
While each Chamboree has introduced new ideas, activities and experiences, the purpose has remained unchanged: creating exceptional opportunities for young people through Scouting and Guiding.
Each Chamboree has had its own unique theme, shaping the look, feel and experiences of the event:
1994 – The Beginning
The first Chamboree brought together young people from across Cheshire and laid the foundations for what would become one of the UK’s leading international Scout and Guide camps.
1998 – Romans
Participants stepped back in time to explore the world of the Roman Empire, bringing history, adventure and storytelling to camp life.
2002 – Movie Studios
Chamboree transformed into a world of film and entertainment, inspiring young people through creativity, performance and imagination.
2006 – Habitats
Focusing on the natural world, participants explored different environments, ecosystems and the importance of our connection with nature.
2010 – Knights
Castles, legends and medieval adventure provided the backdrop to a Chamboree built around courage, teamwork and discovery.
2014 – Superheroes
Celebrating the idea that everyone can make a difference, the superhero theme encouraged young people to recognise their own strengths and abilities.
2018 – Pirates
Adventure took to the high seas as Chamboree became a world of pirates, treasure, exploration and unforgettable entertainment.
2022 – Space
Young people looked beyond our world to explore the universe, innovation, discovery and the possibilities of the future.
2026 – Animal Kingdom
The latest chapter in the Chamboree story celebrates the incredible diversity of the natural world. Through the Animal Kingdom theme, participants will explore habitats, conservation, adaptation and the connections between people, animals and the environment.
While the themes have changed over the years, the spirit of Chamboree has remained the same — adventure, friendship, international understanding and creating unforgettable experiences for young people.
