Chamboree is a week long international camp, held on the Cheshire Showground every four years since 1990. It is organised by Cheshire Scouts in partnership with Girlguiding in Cheshire. Chamboree gives young people the chance to spend time away from home, take part in huge number of activities, build confidence through learning new skills and team work, and making friendships that will last forever.

Welcoming over 6,000+ Scouts and Guides from every habitat. With an Animal Kingdom theme, our 2026 Chamboree promises to be wild. Chamboree is a week long international camp, held on the Cheshire Showground every four years. Organised by Cheshire Scouts in partnership with Girlguiding in Cheshire, the event will take place between 8th - 15th August 2026.

Who organises Chamboree?
Chamboree is organised by a core team of volunteers. In addition, hundreds of volunteer staff from across the UK and overseas join us to help make Chamboree happen, both before, during and after the event.
Meet the people that are making the event happen!
Dave Hopley, Project Sponsor and Camp Chief
Dave provides the strategic leadership and overall direction for Chamboree 2026, ensuring the event reflects the values and ambitions of Scouting and Guiding.
Huw Morgan, Project Manager
Huw is responsible for leading the operational planning and delivery of Chamboree 2026, coordinating all aspects of the event across multiple teams and functions. They ensure that timelines, budgets, and logistics are managed effectively, while facilitating communication and collaboration among team leads.
Laura Livingstone, Camper Experience Lead
Laura is responsible for participant support including subcamp teams, international advisors. The directorate also includes information sharing via our website, handbooks, newsletters and helpdesk.
Nick Hirst, Programme Lead
Nick is responsible for providing an exciting, challenging, entertaining & inclusive programme of activities and events for all our participants. From the moment participants arrive on site to the final closing ceremony the programme team will be providing memories & experiences that will last a lifetime.
Nigel Flatman, Operations Lead
Nigel responsible for building, maintaining and then dismantling the infrastructure and services needed to turn our green field into a fully functioning for a tented village for 6,000 Scouts, Guides, leaders and staff. They also provide our medical, security and traffic management around the site including the car parks.
Sue Clough, Media Lead
Sue is responsible for marketing and promoting Chamboree 2026 encouraging more participants & staff, getting sponsorship, building the excitement. They will work with national and local press as well as making use of all forms of social media. At the Jamboree the media team will also create the onsite media including newspapers, videos, photography.
Vacant, Staff Support and Safety
The recruitment and deployment of IST staff to support Chamboree 2026, including registration, on-site training, information sharing, online engagement & the IST sub-camp.
Richie Thornley, Retail Lead
Richie is responsible for a number of retail outlets on site which are focused on providing good value for money and quality customer service. These outlets include a souvenir shop, Jamboree clothing sales, food warehouse, gas sales, coffee shop and a bar.
Luke Thornton, Treasurer and Jon Ducker, Accountant
Luke and Jon are responsible for ensuring that the event has sufficient financial resources to enable a quality event to be provided to all participants and is brought in on budget by providing good financial governance.
