Arrivals and Departures
The site services team will be moving on site the week prior to Chamboree to start the build up process. On Monday 26th July the toilets and showers arrive on site, on Tuesday the marquee companies start erecting the main marquees and on Wednesday the stage in the main arena will be built. And then it’s your turn!
Thursday 29 July between 16.00 – 21.30.Leaders from the local area will be allowed on site to setup your campsites. Please note that camping is not allowed until Friday evening but security will be provided by the site services team.
Friday 30 July from 10am Leaders will be allowed on site to setup your campsites. All vehicles must be removed from the camping ground by 14.00 and this then becomes a no traffic zone for the whole of Chamboree with the exception of large vehicles delivering equipment on Saturday morning, that subject to weather conditions will be escorted onto the camping ground to unload. Trailers carrying large amounts of equipment, subject to weather conditions, will also be escorted onto the camping ground.
Cubs can arrive on-site (providing their Leaders are present) from 16.30, all parents and non campers are to have left the site by 20.30
Saturday 31 July from 10am – the main gates will be opened to welcome all other Chamboree campers, all parents and non campers are to have left the site by 16.00
Sunday 01 August from 08.30am – Beaver Scouts will have access to the site
Cub parents will be allowed on site from 16.00 to collect Cubs, they must have a pass to gain access to the car park. It is expected that all Beavers, Cubs, parents and non campers will be off site by 18.00
Saturday 7 August – it is expected that Groups will break camp during Saturday morning and leave site from 12 noon onwards. Parents will be allowed on site from 11.00 and again they must have a pass to gain access to the car park. All Groups must be off site by 16.00 having had their sites inspected and cleared for departure. Arrangements for vehicle movements to take equipment away will be announced towards the end of Chamboree week.
Caravans
Leader’s caravans can be parked at the rear of a Group site with the approval of the Sub-Camp Leader. Note that vehicles can not be parked near to caravans for any reason. There are no electric hook-up points and waste water should be collected in an appropriate receptacle and emptied at the waste disposal points located at the toilet blocks.
