Activities all the way

ActivitiesChamboree has been designed to offer you hundreds of activities and each day you will have the opportunity to take part in a selection of activities designed to thrill you, challenge you, bring out your creative side and generally have a fantastic time.

CUBS

For the first time Chamboree welcomes the Cubs for the first weekend of Chamboree and you will be able to experience many of the Chamboree activities plus a massive additional selection of challenges created exclusively for you. Quad bikes (Cubs – Saturday only). 4 small bikes complete with inflated circuit – brought and run by trained staff.

Scouts and Explorer Scouts

On Saturday once you have set up camp you are invited to join the Chamboree YOMP which follows a specially designed course around the perimeter of the site with “incident bases” around the course that will change throughout the afternoon. You can join the activity at any time, go back to your sub camp for a rest and then do a few more miles. Some of you will be raising money as you take part in the activity so it’s important that you get your card stamped as go around.

Chamboree Sunday has a number of very special elements to the day starting with our Sunrise Ceremony and Scouts Own, ask your Leader about the significance of this event in relation to what is planned for next year – the centenary of Scouting. This will be followed by a number of activities designed to make sure that you get to know your fellow campers. During the afternoon the whole camp will take part in “picnic style” activities on the main arena including displays and competitions. Watch out for our Zulu Warriors who will be visiting Chamboree during the day!

Monday – Friday

Action packed really does not describe these five days as you will visit a different activity Zone each day including two zones that are off site

The Zones are:

Zone 1 ADVENTURE

Spend a full day off site at Cheshire Scouts activity centre, Forest Camp where a new “low ropes” course has been installed specifically for Chamboree, plus have a go climbing, abseiling, backwoods cooking and hopefully drive a digger! And then there is Mountain Boarding like you’ve never seen before.

Zone 2 FIRE POWER

Aim and fire is the theme of this base giving you the chance to shoot rifles, try your hand at golf, archery, quasar and remote control tanks.

Zone 3 HOME

Try your hand at new skills, let your creative juices flow, learn more about the emergency services and discover ways to speak to the world. This is a half day activity combined with Zone 5 WATER

Zone 4 SPEED

Its all action in this zone with mountain bikes, go-carts, ice skating and water rockets with a few special challenges thrown in for good measure

Zone 5 WATER

This is your chance to spend half a day at Cheshire Scouts water activity centre in the magnificent grounds of Tatton Park where you will get the chance to go bell boating, dragon boating, try your hand at sailing and test out our new Katakanus.

Zone 6 WET & WILD

This is Chamboree’s very own theme park, built near the main arena including our very own beach! Lots of opportunity to get wet plus beach volleyball, sandcastle competitions and the “Surf Simulator”. It’s going to be really wild.
